This whole web|blog project came about because we found ourselves constantly – in sort of an overbearing yet well-meaning way –  encouraging our friends and family to take sailing lessons. We would force them to look at picture after picture from our most recent trips and go on and on (and on and on) about how our sailing vacations were better than anything they could possibly be doing with their time. Not exactly in those words, but kind of.

The result has been several friends who took our advice and went to sailing school and some that avoid us at all costs when they see us at a party. As for the first group, they all ended up loving sailing as much as we do. We are certain that you will too. The second group? Your days are numbered, and we are bound to catch you when you are least expecting it, so you might as well familiarize yourself with this project so you can say “um, yeah, I’ve already seen the pictures on your website”, and then you can hustle off to the buffet table with minimal impact.

Our intentions are solid. We just want to share one of the best decisions we’ve made, and definitely one of the best things we’ve done as a couple, with other people who might also want to explore places that can only be reached by boat and experience the excitement and tranquility that chartering your own sailboat can offer.

While we aren’t able to sail full time just yet (see The Plan), we are fortunate to have the means to travel a bit as we edge into our 50’s and navigate bridging the gap between working and retirement by spending time on a sailboat as often as we can.

We think you should consider checking it out for yourself!
